    Details

The successor to the 883, the 840 (not to be confused with the retired MT840/WT840 trail runner) is built for the customer who has a lightbulb-shaped foot: wide at the front and narrow at the back. Built on the SL-2 last, it's extra deep for customers who just can't stand a shallow shoe, and it accommodates orthotics easily. As neutral as the popular 883, it features a wide toebox and enough cushioning to keep your joints happy on long runs, even for bigger runners. Keeping consistent with New Balance's emphasis on bringing weight down, this shoe now comes in at 11.9 ounces.

Q: I have a very high arc which causes some plantars faciitis problems. I am primarily a walker. Any recommendations?

A: Hi Terry, The 1080v4 would be the best shoe for the issues are having in my opinion. Here is a link for you to take a look: http://www.shoefitter.ca/new-balance-1080.html. It has good support for people with higher arches and it has really good cushion throughout the whole shoe. -Sabrina
